Take Heart Foundation’s Premier Fundraiser Sells Out, Rallying Over 250 Supporters in a Powerful Show of Community
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Demand signals rising regional support for inclusive sports, mentorship, and youth development programs across New York State
Middle Village, NY — April 16, 2026 — The Take Heart Foundation announced today that its upcoming Premier Fundraiser has officially sold out ahead of schedule, with more than 250 supporters confirmed to attend the April 24 event. The early sellout marks a significant milestone for the young nonprofit, underscoring accelerating community engagement behind its mission to expand inclusive sports and mentorship opportunities for children of all abilities.
Originally planned as a flagship fundraising gathering, the event reached full capacity earlier than anticipated as interest from donors, sponsors, and community members continued to build in recent weeks. Organizers say the response reflects not only enthusiasm for the evening itself, but also growing alignment around the Foundation’s broader efforts to create accessible, community-based programming for children with developmental disabilities.
“This response speaks to something larger than a single evening,” the Foundation said in a statement. “It reflects a shared belief that every child deserves access, dignity, and opportunity through sport, mentorship, and community. We are deeply grateful to everyone who made this moment possible.”
At the heart of the organization’s mission is a deeply personal origin story that continues to shape its direction and outreach.
“Our journey began with our children,” said founders Eric and Graceann Faulkner. “Freddy’s strength and spirit, alongside Christina—our miracle—reshaped how we understand possibility for every child. Take Heart Foundation was built on that lived experience: that inclusion cannot be an afterthought, and that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered. Seeing this level of community response affirms that belief is shared far beyond our own family.”
The sold-out fundraiser represents an important inflection point for the Foundation as it expands its programming footprint and deepens engagement with families, educators, and local partners across New York State. Proceeds from the event will support ongoing initiatives in adaptive sports, mentorship programming, and community inclusion efforts designed to increase participation opportunities for children of all abilities.
Looking ahead, the Foundation is preparing for its upcoming Fall Event and additional program announcements expected later this year as it continues to scale its impact and partnerships.
