Our story

When doctors said there was no hope and that death was the only outcome, God wrote a different story. Diagnosed with Hydrops Fetalis in the womb, this precious child was never expected to survive. But through prayer, faith, and God’s unfailing grace, life triumphed where medicine had no answers—Christina survived.

She is living proof that God still performs miracles, that He is present in the darkest moments, and that no diagnosis is greater than His power. God saved her life and revealed His power through her story. Christina is living proof that statistics do not define destiny and that miracles still happen. Her life is a testimony of hope, faith, and the miracle-working hand of God.

Through Christina, we learned what it truly means to take heart—to trust God even when fear is loud and the future is uncertain.

Christina has Down syndrome, and through her journey, we have witnessed both the challenges children with disabilities face and the extraordinary joy, courage, and resilience they bring into the world. By her side has always been her brother, Freddy, whose love, protection, and pride in his sister remind us daily of the power of family and unconditional love.

We are also deeply grateful for our family, whose unwavering support, prayers, and strength carried us through the hardest moments and continue to lift us up today. Their faith and encouragement have been a constant reminder that we were never walking this journey alone.

At Take Heart Foundation, we believe every child is fearfully and wonderfully made, created with purpose, and deserving of a place where they are celebrated, included, and encouraged. Our mission is to raise funds to create recreational sports programs specifically designed for children with disabilities—teams that are adaptive, inclusive, and rooted in encouragement, dignity, and love. These teams are more than games; they are places where children are seen, celebrated, and given the opportunity to belong.

Take Heart foundation is our testimony in action—born from Christina’s miracle, strengthened by Freddy’s love, and sustained by a family rooted in faith. It is our way of honoring God’s faithfulness and helping other children experience the joy, confidence, and community they deserve.
